“Absorbing the Word of God feeds our souls and renews our minds.” Erin Burkhardt

As a young mom for only five years, I am constantly learning about what it means to be a parent. I am discovering that it is a life long journey that God carries us on, loving and encouraging us every step of the way.

Handling the every day ups and downs of motherhood while battling chronic illness is extremely challenging and humbling. Having limitations means I have to say no to some of the goals and dreams I have as a mother.

However, through it all, whether on good days or bad days I’ve come to understand that relying on Christ means that whatever I have to give is more than enough. He is our source and strength, the invisible presence in every room and the quiet whisper within our conversation.

Absorbing the Word of God feeds our souls and renews our minds. Through Him, we are enough and we can be exactly the moms our children need us to be. May these Bible verses encourage you and be words of truth that will lift you up as you continue in your parenting journey. May they be balm for a mother’s soul.

As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you. Isaiah 66:13 ESV

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. Proverbs 31:25

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:26 ESV

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. Deuteronomy 6:6–7 ESV

Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all. Proverbs 31:28–29 ESV

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:31

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:13-14 ESV

The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. Genesis 3:20 ESV

You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. 1 Peter 3:4 NLT

Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them. Deuteronomy 4:9

And His mother treasured up all these things in her heart. Luke 2:51 ESV

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the privilege of being mothers and that we are all uniquely made by you. Thank you that you provide everything we need to do Your will in our current season of life, no matter what challenges lay before us.

Help us to walk arm in arm with one another, encouraging each other as moms, not living in comparison but instead lifting each other up in love.

Please fill us with your hope, peace, and contentment, allowing us to be a light to our children, guiding them into your loving embrace.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God shower His blessings on all mothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, mother’s in law, and mother-like figures in the world. May He give grace and strength for all your days.

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.  Proverbs 31:31
