Help me to know the weight and pain of this life and not to be breezy when the mountains have fallen into the sea. Help me to have the aroma of Christ’s sufferings about me.
Is there a basket big enough to hold all of ourselves? Wins, losses, employment, recreation, love, sorrow and joy, wellness and sickness? A God-created space that He fully inhabits? A basket for our life. Whole, complete. Integration instead of compartmentalization.
Don’t let fear, doubt, or complacency keep you from the abundant life God wants for you. God wants us to dream … to reach for the impossible.
Those of us who walk this chronic illness pathway share a fellowship we may not have known had we remained healthy. We share in the deep comfort of Christ.
So how do we live through disaster well? We take our terrifying anxieties and our aching sorrows in both hands and we look heavenward. We choose to let despair draw us to Jesus, rather than away.
