This spring as I take my daily walks, I am looking to see what survived the storm and what did not. What can I do? I can wait and lament.
This month I'd like you to think about how colors affect your emotions, or how they describe your emotions. You might want to explore what color might sound like, or taste like. You might even like to try to write an acrostic poem, with each line starting with the first letter of a chosen color, as I did in the three short poems below.
Where do you like to write? I need natural light to write. I can’t create from a loving place unless my eyes are flooded and my skin is sheltered.
I believe the very work of writing a prayer as poetry takes us deeper into our hearts, giving a new vocabulary to offer our longings to God.
