Stronger, Sharper, More Beautiful Together
When we point one another to Christ during our struggles, we can grow stronger, sharper, more beautiful together. The journey is richer.
Chronic Joy® Staff Writer and Prayer Team
Kara and her husband Conrad live in Calgary, Canada, where she was a teacher for 28 years. She loves the Word of God and encourages others through her devotional writing. Kara felt led to write a book of devotionals (Searching for Sea Glass) when her journey with chronic illnesses pressed her into God’s arms of love more deeply. She prays that her journey and refinement will encourage you in your walk with God.

Throughout my life, I have sought closeness with God but now my illness moves me even closer to Him. My limitations become God's invitation.
I love to serve and be available for God, but over the past few years, there have been some necessary changes due to my illnesses. It frustrates me that what I am now able to offer seems like just a tiny raindrop. But I’ve come to see that our tiny raindrops of service can be like a crashing waterfall to God.
I can’t compare my chronic illness journey to anyone else’s. God wants me to look to Him for my value and identity, and to remember that He has uniquely blessed me.
