I have a goal of seeking to sense the sacred in the everyday, then write about my experiences (which are often expressed as poetry). This poem arose from a desire to listen better and sense God’s presence more deeply. It also stemmed from a reflective look at times when noticing has paid dividends for me in terms of heightened awareness of the sacred in my midst.
How we view ourselves and the way our life maps out is determined by what perspective we take. Our outlook on life and the mindset we have matters more than we often realize.
On our journey toward embracing hope we soon realize it has to be fought for. If it simply slipped over our shoulders, like a warm comfort blanket from heaven, we wouldn’t value it so much.
A cave of chronic illness obscurity is a tough place to be in, but not hopeless when we lean on Jesus. It becomes a place of holy hope and grace.
