Prayer Ministry

Prayer Pond

Prayer is the heartbeat of Chronic Joy Ministry.

Welcome to the Chronic Joy® Prayer Pond, where you can share your prayer requests, updates, and shouts of praise. At Chronic Joy, we’re passionate about prayer. That’s why we extend a warm invitation to pray for this ministry, for those affected by chronic illness and mental illness, and for each prayer request tossed into our Prayer Pond. Whether a request, praise, lament, suffering, loss, hope, grief, or joy, each prayer ripples far beyond this day and the boundaries of our world.

How often we hear, “Prayer is the least I can do,” when in reality, prayer is the most we can do. As we connect with our Heavenly Father and with one another in prayer, our serving hearts both grow and thrive.

“For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20

Prayer Pond

But what happens when chronic pain drives you to your bed, day after day. What happens when you feel the sting of the night-time hours’ of loneliness?  What happens when you have searched for answers but found none?  Welcome to the world that is a much-too-common-normal for many chronic illness sufferers.

Is this world of chronic illness a place where life is stunted? Or could there be a hidden intimacy with our Lord not seen before? Perhaps it is precisely the place where prayers are born. Could it be that the unrelenting pain is what might cause us to cry out to our God for His help?

In this place of crying-out, there is a longing in our soul that rises from the deep places. The Scriptures speak of “Deep calling out to deep,” Psalm 42:7 and “Hear the voice of my supplications.” Psalm 28:2 But sometimes those vague terms can cause us to flounder in our weaknesses and set aside the call to prayer. As you long for a way to find expression for your heart-longings, join us at on the Let’s Pray page to find help and explanations of different types of Biblical prayers:

You are a precious, vital member of the Kingdom of God and of this community. We’re glad you’re here. Grateful for your presence. Blessed to lift you in prayer.

May God bless you and keep you today and always. May He bring a fullness to your praying as you pause with Him now.

Before you leave today, please #PrayItForward by lifting up one or more of the requests in front of yours. Then be sure to click the “I PRAYED FOR THIS” button to let the requester know you prayed for them. What an honor to realize that every time we click that button, the person who submitted the request will get an email notifying them that “Someone just prayed for you.”  We can lift our prayers in the night hours, in the hot sun of noon, or at the dawn of the morning, and He will hear us.

“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:17 KJV

Thanks to everyone for who prayed for me.  It is so encouraging to get a notice in my email indicating someone prayed for me. Blessings to all Chronic Joy prayer warriors.Edna

UPDATE on my sister-in-law, Ruth. She is now in a regular room and is better, though still quite weak. She isn't able to eat much yet. But she felt better enough to want to walk a little in the hallway. Please pray for her husband, Gary, as this is taking a toll on him, too. He needs to make sure he also cares for himself to get rest and eat when he needs to. Pray for wisdom for him and for others to chip in and help. We would if we could but we live 10 hrs away from them. Thank you so much for your prayers.

LATEST UPDATE ON Ruth, my sister-in-law

Gary, her husband, called this morning and said she was taken off the ventilator yesterday and was able to ingest some broth. But there is a secondary problem which they said is very common when a person has been immobile. She has developed a blood clot in her left ventricle and they are working to clear that now. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts.

Update on my sister-in-law, Ruth. She has been stable since late last night. Still on a ventilator. Her husband said she's not any worse this morning but not better either. So I guess she is still stable. Last night the doctor said the next 24 hours would be critical.

UPDATE to an earlier request. My sister-in-law, Ruth, is now on a ventilator, because they felt she was too weak to make it through the night without it. Please pray for her and the family. Thank you.

My sister-in-law, Ruth, went into the hospital Friday night with pneumonia in both lungs. She is being given oxygen and antibiotics but has seen no improvement. This morning she was moved to the Intensive Care unit. Please pray for healing, for wisdom for the medical team, for comfort and peace for Ruth and her husband, Gary. Thank you so much.

I am so thankful that God was with me today as I started back on the road of medication treatments again, after many medication failures. Today it was an infusion for Osteoporosis, and 2 weeks from today I begin RA infusions. Would you pray that I keep allowing the Lord to replace my fear with His courage? Thank you so much!

I have a close friend whose 8 year old daughter just relapsed with her second round of aggressive form of cancer. I am asking for many prayers to heal this young girl. I am also asking for prayers of strength, courage, and faith for her and her family during this journey. They have so much fear and my hope is it is replaced with faith.

Thank you.

Thank you, for all who are praying for me. Pagets disease is still present, but I believe in the power of prayer and that God still heals. So I will continue to pray for healing and ask that you continue to pray for me. I know God can do it!

I am having another food crisis. The new shipment of the only brand of chicken I can eat has changed something and I am having severe reactions after eating pieces. I'm having dizziness, face burning, top of head is throbbing. These reactions lasted for hours Wednesday night and next day. I noticed the packaging has changed so it's either the new plastic or something in the chicken has changed. I have a few older packs of chicken that I've been eating and tolerating ok, but will be out of it on Sunday. So I really need God' s direction or the only foods I will be able to tolerate are the white rice and tuna I've got. I have to have lots of protein in my diet or hypoglycemia sets in quickly. thanks for prayer.
