Prayer Ministry

Prayer Pond

Prayer is the heartbeat of Chronic Joy Ministry.

Welcome to the Chronic Joy Ministry Prayer Pond, where you can share your prayer requests, updates, and shouts of praise. At Chronic Joy, we’re passionate about prayer. That’s why we extend a warm invitation to pray for this ministry, for those affected by chronic physical and/or mental illness, and for each prayer request tossed into our Prayer Pond. Whether a request, praise, lament, suffering, loss, hope, grief, or joy, each prayer ripples far beyond this day and the boundaries of our world.

How often we hear, “Prayer is the least I can do,” when in reality, prayer is the most we can do. As we connect with our Heavenly Father and with one another in prayer, our serving hearts both grow and thrive.

Prayer Pond

You are a precious, vital member of the Kingdom of God and of this community. We’re glad you’re here. Grateful for your presence. Blessed to lift you in prayer.

May God bless you and keep you today and always.

“For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20

Before you leave today, please #PrayItForward by lifting up one or more of the requests in front of yours. Then be sure to click the “I PRAYED FOR THIS” button to let the requester know you prayed for them.

Thanks to everyone for who prayed for me.  It is so encouraging to get a notice in my email indicating someone prayed for me.  Blessings to all Chronic Joy prayer warriors. ~  Edna

Please pray for my mother and me, who have battled Lyme disease for many years. I think we are both feeling a lot of discouragement lately, and we need strength and hope.

I‘d also like to share a praise that God really brought me through the pain of a breakup in which my boyfriend left me, in part, due to my illness.

My 25-year old son was just admitted to the hospital for a currently undiagnosed mental illness that has plagued him and his family for two years. This once happy, kind, intelligent young man has turned angry and scared. Please pray that the mental health professionals can help him and make him realize he needs their help to live a happy and productive life. Thank you.

My brother is mentally ill. He won't go in to get diagnosed. After a couple people, he has landed living with mom and me. He refuses to work for anyone. He divorced his wife, quit his job and left his kids. My mom is 85 and most days he acts like a child mentality. So frustrated with him. We need a break through to get him help.

Please pray for my son Mark. He just had his 7th surgery in 22 months for the same condition that the doctors are just baffled as to whether it is a chronic disease at the root of this sudden onset at age 24 and which continues 2 years later to this day. He was supposed to have a colonoscopy to help with the diagnosis but it has to be delayed due to the unexpected 7th emergency surgery. Please pray for his wound's healing and the wisdom of the doctors. Thank you so much.

Please pray for my Grandson Jakey. He's only 3 and has lost his Mother and Father. He is being tested for Autism and he has an eating disorder that makes him not want to eat at all. Would please LIFT him up to our Lord and Savior so he can carry this to his Father? Thank you so much. I am praying for everyone's needs

Would you like to offer a kind word, encouragement, an inspiring quote, or prayer to a fellow chronic illness traveller? On hard days when it seems almost impossible to take one more step, sometimes it soothes the spirit to extend ourselves a bit. Writing a note to a fellow traveller could be just that.

And it’s simple to do!

Stop by the Prayer Pond and as you read through the requests, when God tugs at your heart, pause and pray, then consider writing a note, card or letter to encourage that person too.

Who do you know that you could bless with a note of encouragement? Ask God who you could send a little #PenToPaper love, then just write from the heart – a scripture verse, an inspiring quote, a prayer, and/or a few few short sentences to brighten someone’s day. If you need a little inspiration to get you started, scroll down to the prayer printables for some great ideas

Simple Silence: A Place of Quiet Prayer

An Invitation from Jesus - Come with Me to a Quiet Place   The headlines shouted across the glaring screen, and my heart dropped lower than I thought it could go. It seemed that for a moment I felt the weight and the sadness of the world crashing upon me. But in the next moment I heard a whisper, stronger than the weight, deeper than the sadness: “Then, because so many people were...

Fear: Turned to Trust – Prayer Prompts

We hear so many words telling us to just “trust God more.”  But is it really that easy? When the foundations of our lives have spun off-kilter, what then? How can trust be considered from a place of such upset? The Cambridge-English Dictionary gives us the definition for the word “trust” as: “to believe that someone is good and honest and will not harm you, or that something is safe and...

Bitterness: Letting Christ Bring Compassion

Social Distancing, Self-Isolation, & Quarantine   The memes and the quips scrolled by me faster than I could keep up. It seemed that everyone had something to say about self-isolation, quarantine, lock-down, and the restrictions that were suddenly, with very little warning, thrust upon us. I hit the “like” button more times than I could count … Finally the rest of the world would...
