Prayer is the heartbeat of Chronic Joy Ministry.
Welcome to the Chronic Joy® Prayer Pond, where you can share your prayer requests, updates, and shouts of praise. At Chronic Joy, we’re passionate about prayer. That’s why we extend a warm invitation to pray for this ministry, for those affected by chronic illness and mental illness, and for each prayer request tossed into our Prayer Pond. Whether a request, praise, lament, suffering, loss, hope, grief, or joy, each prayer ripples far beyond this day and the boundaries of our world.
“For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20
But what happens when chronic pain drives you to your bed, day after day. What happens when you feel the sting of the night-time hours’ of loneliness? What happens when you have searched for answers but found none? Welcome to the world that is a much-too-common-normal for many chronic illness sufferers.
Is this world of chronic illness a place where life is stunted? Or could there be a hidden intimacy with our Lord not seen before? Perhaps it is precisely the place where prayers are born. Could it be that the unrelenting pain is what might cause us to cry out to our God for His help?
In this place of crying-out, there is a longing in our soul that rises from the deep places. The Scriptures speak of “Deep calling out to deep,” Psalm 42:7 and “Hear the voice of my supplications.” Psalm 28:2 But sometimes those vague terms can cause us to flounder in our weaknesses and set aside the call to prayer. As you long for a way to find expression for your heart-longings, join us at on the Let’s Pray page to find help and explanations of different types of Biblical prayers:
You are a precious, vital member of the Kingdom of God and of this community. We’re glad you’re here. Grateful for your presence. Blessed to lift you in prayer.
May God bless you and keep you today and always. May He bring a fullness to your praying as you pause with Him now.
Before you leave today, please #PrayItForward by lifting up one or more of the requests in front of yours. Then be sure to click the “I PRAYED FOR THIS” button to let the requester know you prayed for them. What an honor to realize that every time we click that button, the person who submitted the request will get an email notifying them that “Someone just prayed for you.” We can lift our prayers in the night hours, in the hot sun of noon, or at the dawn of the morning, and He will hear us.
“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:17 KJV
Thanks to everyone for who prayed for me. It is so encouraging to get a notice in my email indicating someone prayed for me. Blessings to all Chronic Joy prayer warriors. ~ Edna

My brother is mentally ill. He won't go in to get diagnosed. After a couple people, he has landed living with mom and me. He refuses to work for anyone. He divorced his wife, quit his job and left his kids. My mom is 85 and most days he acts like a child mentality. So frustrated with him. We need a break through to get him help.

Please pray for my son Mark. He just had his 7th surgery in 22 months for the same condition that the doctors are just baffled as to whether it is a chronic disease at the root of this sudden onset at age 24 and which continues 2 years later to this day. He was supposed to have a colonoscopy to help with the diagnosis but it has to be delayed due to the unexpected 7th emergency surgery. Please pray for his wound's healing and the wisdom of the doctors. Thank you so much.

Please pray for me and my husband (we're 60) ... as we deal with extremely challenging circumstances with our adult daughter (29) who has severe Anxiety Disorder, Panic Attacks, Rage Tantrums, and other undiagnosed mental illness. She refuses medication. She is being evaluated for autism. After numerous learning-related evaluations throughout her life, autism was never diagnosed ... only ADHD, Anxiety, and Mood Disorder. She has had to return home (from another city where she wants to return, but there are many complications) due to Covid-related unemployment. A recent psychologist said her first impression after 2 sessions was BiPolar and Multiple Personality ... which our daughter rejects. We are seeking help for ourselves to cope with her behavior and mental health, but she will not accept any of our rules, requests, or recommendations for medical or psychological interveition in our city. We need an exit strategy out of this situation!!

I hope to move to a living space that is accessible for both me and my mother, who is in her 70s with anxiety and depression but mobile without walking aid. I have mobility challenge and need to use walking aids. I am an only child and need to provide caregiving for my mother. I have been her primary caregiver since my father passed away in 1994. I have MS and it became difficult for me to continue caregiving for my mother when my disease became progressive in 2016. I pray that God arrange for us to live with someone who can help me share my caregiving responsibility for my mother. We currently live in our apartment, and hope to sell it to purchase an accessible house with another person with whom we share the property.

I’m suffering neurological problems from Lyme disease, the worst of which is screaming tinnitus that torments me day and night. I take medications that should help and am thankful that changes are happening, but it still gets pretty bad. Please pray that all the bad in me dissipate and that I can finally have a lasting silence in my head

I cannot wish away this pain ... cannot get away from this broken body ... But what I can do is ... turn my sickness and pain into an offering.
Prayer prompts with Scriptures that lead us in praying for peace. Jesus brings us true peace as we pray to Him.
Those of us who walk this chronic illness pathway share a fellowship we may not have known had we remained healthy. We share in the deep comfort of Christ.

Discover a spiritual path consisting of three stepping-stones: Solitude (learning not to be alone but to be alone with God); Silence (the discipline by which the inner fire of God is tended and kept alive); and Prayer (standing in the presence of God with the mind in the heart).
Ruth Haley Barton
Do you long for a deep, fundamental change in your life with God? Do you desire a greater intimacy with God? Spiritual disciplines are activities that open us to God's transforming love and the changes that only God can bring about in our lives. Dive deeply into understanding seven key disciplines along with practical ideas for weaving them into everyday life.
Through studying the lives of Elijah and Elisha (1 Kings 17-19 and parts of 2 Kings), readers will be challenged to pray bold prayers rather than settle for meek prayers not offered in deep faith. Readers will learn to cultivate their prayer lives, surrender to God's timing, and plan and persist when prayers seem to go unanswered.
Christians are taught in their churches and schools that prayer is the most powerful way to experience God. But few receive instruction or guidance in how to make prayer genuinely meaningful. In Prayer, renowned pastor Timothy Keller delves into the many facets of this everyday act.
