Prayer is the heartbeat of Chronic Joy Ministry.
Welcome to the Chronic Joy® Prayer Pond, where you can share your prayer requests, updates, and shouts of praise. At Chronic Joy, we’re passionate about prayer. That’s why we extend a warm invitation to pray for this ministry, for those affected by chronic illness and mental illness, and for each prayer request tossed into our Prayer Pond. Whether a request, praise, lament, suffering, loss, hope, grief, or joy, each prayer ripples far beyond this day and the boundaries of our world.
“For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20
But what happens when chronic pain drives you to your bed, day after day. What happens when you feel the sting of the night-time hours’ of loneliness? What happens when you have searched for answers but found none? Welcome to the world that is a much-too-common-normal for many chronic illness sufferers.
Is this world of chronic illness a place where life is stunted? Or could there be a hidden intimacy with our Lord not seen before? Perhaps it is precisely the place where prayers are born. Could it be that the unrelenting pain is what might cause us to cry out to our God for His help?
In this place of crying-out, there is a longing in our soul that rises from the deep places. The Scriptures speak of “Deep calling out to deep,” Psalm 42:7 and “Hear the voice of my supplications.” Psalm 28:2 But sometimes those vague terms can cause us to flounder in our weaknesses and set aside the call to prayer. As you long for a way to find expression for your heart-longings, join us at on the Let’s Pray page to find help and explanations of different types of Biblical prayers:
You are a precious, vital member of the Kingdom of God and of this community. We’re glad you’re here. Grateful for your presence. Blessed to lift you in prayer.
May God bless you and keep you today and always. May He bring a fullness to your praying as you pause with Him now.
Before you leave today, please #PrayItForward by lifting up one or more of the requests in front of yours. Then be sure to click the “I PRAYED FOR THIS” button to let the requester know you prayed for them. What an honor to realize that every time we click that button, the person who submitted the request will get an email notifying them that “Someone just prayed for you.” We can lift our prayers in the night hours, in the hot sun of noon, or at the dawn of the morning, and He will hear us.
“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:17 KJV
Thanks to everyone for who prayed for me. It is so encouraging to get a notice in my email indicating someone prayed for me. Blessings to all Chronic Joy prayer warriors. ~ Edna

I’m back with a prayer request
In pain at 3:30 am.
PLEASE pray this pain is healed, it’s the most sensitive area of the body, where all the nerves meet at the pelvis and a nerve is pinching waking me up, can barely breathe from the pain. Pray Jesus hears my cries of years in this pain. I get help w/ therapist and pain comes back while sleeping. I get so sad. I want to believe Jesus can heal this. I want his love again to care for me and free me of this affliction and don’t let it come back! Please stop the pain Jesus
I need prayers please

Please pray for my healing of my twisted sacrum pressing on a nerve, locking up muscles that NEED to let go and work, for vital organs to keep functioning. I won’t mention what, but it’s horrific, and I’ve been misdiagnosed for 10 years. A new therapy I’m starting by a therapist that gets it finally, might help IF the Lord will bless it and free me from this unbearable affliction. It’s vital to be fixed for my survival.
And after this long, I need relief in being healed or passing away. Either way, it’s been too long, and suffering has been too much on a human body & broken spirit.

Hello everyone. I am back with prayer requests for my son Mark who is on his way to the ER once again (8 and counting) with a serious and painful infection for which there is a procedure to help alleviate it and the pain but for which we have no root cause.
These are new doctors, a new hospital, and a new infection. Will you join me in praying for healing, for the doctors' wisdom, and for Mark's and my husband's protection from COVID while we try to navigate his illness in and out of hospitals and surgery centers.
I cherish your prayers. Thank you.

I have a mostly undiagnosed, progressive condition which has become very distressing. Thankfully I have found a wonderful nurse-practitioner who has been committed to getting to the bottom of it. It centers around extreme sensitivity to and inability to tolerate any medicines - they make my symptoms of progressively tightening muscles and uncontrollable jittery hyper feelings much worse. I have had a severe flare after trying a med that used to help me and have not recovered from it. I know God gives us a future and a hope and is greater than all of this. Please pray for recovery and healing, for God to reveal what this is, clear the confusion and for the appointments and tests the NP has set up to have good results.

I have a condition called complex regional pain syndrome. I have found a very expensive treatment out of state. High success rate of remission. Please pray for financial provision and for me.

Please pray for my son Mark who is having tests on Monday the 27th with the hopes of getting to the root cause of his many health issues. Praying that the Lord will guide the doctor's hands and be his eyes as he attempts to help my son so maybe he can get to the cause and manage the conditions. Praying for all of you as well-- so many are suffering and it can be overwhelming without the support we all give each other. So grateful for this ministry.

In April my 12 year old daughter Nevaeh was diagnosed with a rare chromosomal abnormality. She also has a very long list of health issues (seizures, digestive issues, chronic pain, heart murmur, anxiety, etc.). My mom passed away in January & my dad a few weeks ago. She absolutely loved my parents & has been having a very tough time with grief process.

I cannot wish away this pain ... cannot get away from this broken body ... But what I can do is ... turn my sickness and pain into an offering.
Prayer prompts with Scriptures that lead us in praying for peace. Jesus brings us true peace as we pray to Him.
Those of us who walk this chronic illness pathway share a fellowship we may not have known had we remained healthy. We share in the deep comfort of Christ.

Discover a spiritual path consisting of three stepping-stones: Solitude (learning not to be alone but to be alone with God); Silence (the discipline by which the inner fire of God is tended and kept alive); and Prayer (standing in the presence of God with the mind in the heart).
Ruth Haley Barton
Do you long for a deep, fundamental change in your life with God? Do you desire a greater intimacy with God? Spiritual disciplines are activities that open us to God's transforming love and the changes that only God can bring about in our lives. Dive deeply into understanding seven key disciplines along with practical ideas for weaving them into everyday life.
Through studying the lives of Elijah and Elisha (1 Kings 17-19 and parts of 2 Kings), readers will be challenged to pray bold prayers rather than settle for meek prayers not offered in deep faith. Readers will learn to cultivate their prayer lives, surrender to God's timing, and plan and persist when prayers seem to go unanswered.
Christians are taught in their churches and schools that prayer is the most powerful way to experience God. But few receive instruction or guidance in how to make prayer genuinely meaningful. In Prayer, renowned pastor Timothy Keller delves into the many facets of this everyday act.
