Please pray for my Vertigo which came on after a flight to CA last July. A few days ago it flared up big time - very debilitating! I believe the Lord has some important work for me to get done this summer, but I will need healing to make that happen. I give Him all the praise for my many blessings in the midst of this trial.

Please pray that I do not fret, but remain steadfast and trusting the Lord in the midst of some stressful situations right now. Pray that the peace of the Lord will fill my heart and receive wisdom from the Lord in regard of my response to any provocation...and that my response would be rooted in God's love and truth.

My seasonal part-time job is ending this week, and I am not sure if I can go back or do any other kind of work anymore due to pain and health issues. My budget will be very tight, but I do get disability. Already on several medications, and one more being added now for diabetes. I pray to overcome my pain and fatigue every day this summer to just be able to walk and swim for health benefits and continue to lose weight. Asking prayer for my health and finances. I am so grateful I will have the time now to be a part of this group and pray for others, too.

My chronic illness is going through a severe flare right now. So many doctors. So much money. So much prayer. I know I will be healed in heaven, but I would like to be able to help my daughter and her new baby. Thank you.

We invite you to join us as we pray together this week:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for coming near, for choosing to dwell with us, through the gift of Your son, Jesus. We admit that we feel so alone on many days. Would You open our eyes to see how near You are to us? Would You lift our focus to the fellowship which You have called us to join? Thank You for the precious gift of belonging that You have given to us. Thank You that Your Holy Spirit is bringing our weary and wounded hearts to You in every cry that we lift up. Help us today to offer our hearts to You. Your love is so precious to us.
In the name of Your son, Jesus we pray,

I am currently in testing for my lungs. I have Sarcoidosis but may very well have Pulmonary Fibrosis as well. I am only 30 years old and really want to be able watch my niece and nephew grow up and eventually have a family of my own.

I would appreciate prayer as I have run out of current options for the treatment of my RA, and recenty tested positive for Sjogren's also. My body reacts poorly to all the standard meds, so I am in the process of seeking a new Rheumatologist, hoping for some new options. And today I found out that my brother's wife began chemo for breast cancer.

#PrayerMonday is an invitation to pray for this ministry, for those affected by chronic physical and/or mental illness, and for each prayer request tossed into our Prayer Pond. We’ve created a Prayer Focus calendar and encourage you to sign-up and commit to praying during a specific hour – to link arms with us in bringing radical hope and compassionate change to the world through the power of prayer.
Would you like to offer a kind word, encouragement, an inspiring quote, or prayer to a fellow chronic illness traveller? On hard days when it seems almost impossible to take one more step, sometimes it soothes the spirit to extend ourselves a bit. Writing a note to a fellow traveller could be just that.
And it’s simple to do!
Stop by the Prayer Pond and as you read through the requests, when God tugs at your heart, pause and pray, then consider writing a note, card or letter to encourage that person too.
Or let us choose. You write the note of encouragement and we’ll choose the recipient.
Send your card to: Card Ministry, c/o Chronic Joy, 1015 Lemira Circle, Waukesha, WI 53188 and we’ll send it on for you.
Would you like to receive a note of encouragement? We invite you to sign-up, and as our mailbox fills up, we’ll forward a little love to you.
REQUEST A CARD
From time to time our hearts are moved to send old-school notes to those in our community. May we bless you with tangible expressions of love and community? *US residents only.
SEND A CARD
Would you like to send a note or letter offering prayer and encouragement? Mail your unsealed cards and letters to us and we will send them on to someone in our community.
Have you ever given thought to why Moses would stand on a hill with his arms open? The battle went well as long as his arms were lifted high and open, but when he faltered, the warriors lost ground. Lifted high, his arms represented his openness and willingness, praying in line with God, and interceding on behalf of the Israelites. INTERCESSORY PRAYER - WHAT IS IT? ...READ MORE
Listening to the Falling Rain Is it possible to pause in the middle of our heavy-laden and pain-filled prayers to listen? Consider how you might listen - without effort - to the falling rain. What if our prayers could be heard as responses from God Himself? This passage from Deuteronomy seems to suggest that God wants to let His teaching become personal to us, filling our dry places with...READ MORE
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. (Exodus 14:14) What a promise and what a challenge! Be still when the world says take charge, run faster, push harder, do more, make it happen – whatever it is. Just do it! This passage is written as a command, to be “done” or really not done without exception. How do you reconcile the line between being a wise advocate and when you...READ MORE

Inspired by the ancient teachings of St. Anthony and the Desert Fathers,The Way of the Heart clears before us a spiritual path consisting of three stepping-stones: Solitude (learning not to be alone but to be alone with God); Silence (the discipline by which the inner fire of God is tended and kept alive); and Prayer (standing in the presence of God with the mind in the heart).

Do you long for a deep, fundamental change in your life with God? Do you desire a greater intimacy with God? Do you wonder how you might truly live your life as God created you to live it? Spiritual disciplines are activities that open us to God’s transforming love and the changes that only God can bring about in our lives. Picking up on the monastic tradition of creating a “rule of life” that allows for regular space for the practice of the spiritual disciplines, this book takes you more deeply into understanding seven key disciplines along with practical ideas for weaving them into everyday life.
Christians are taught in their churches and schools that prayer is the most powerful way to experience God. But few receive instruction or guidance in how to make prayer genuinely meaningful. In Prayer, renowned pastor Timothy Keller delves into the many facets of this everyday act.
This collection of short stories, reflections, and poems from Jill Briscoe centers on the theme of our relationship with God, and how that relationship must be our daily priority in good times and bad.
