I have had some days where I've had some hope and I want to thank each one of you who prayed for me. It had meant everything to me!! I got through the last 3 recent surgeries now, am facing another one today (August 26th) which will be a painful and lengthy recovery. This makes surgery # 38. As you know, when you are already living with chronic, it harder to recover from surgeries too. But I told my husband today, I will face this courageously, and so will he. He's been amazing though it all and I am very blessed. But it's been really tough for both of us --a harder year then most. I guess all the years of chronic caught up to us (many of you know how that feels) But we will just let Jesus hold us. He has gotten us through all the other surgeries, and will be there for us today as well. Thank you again for praying. May the Lord bless you for your kindness. Hugs, Anna

Would you join us in praying together this week?
We come before You today, admitting that we are crying out along with the Psalmist:
“My eyes are ever on the LORD,
for only he will release my feet from the snare.” Psalm 35:15
There are so many ways that we feel trapped within our places of illness and struggles. We are praying for our dear ones who also feel trapped. Will You help us to keep our eyes fixed on You, the only Worthy King. Will You show us that You alone know the way to bring rescue. We are waiting upon You here. Thank You that You are faithful to bring us release and rescue in Your own way.
In the name of Jesus, we pray,

Thank you all for praying for my recent MRI. Praise God, It came back clear! So my Neurologist released me for physical therapy for the occipital neuralgia, beginning this Tuesday. I would appreciate prayer that I would have the strength to maintain that therapy. I also appreciate continued prayer for my sister-in-law who is undergoing a second round of chemo for breast cancer. Thank you all so much!

Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for being our great High Priest, the One who has opened the way to the Father:
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.” Hebrews 4:15
Thank You for fully understanding our weaknesses. Thank You for seeing the weights that drag us down and cause us to feel like giving up. Oh, but thank You for not giving up on us! Thank You for bringing us Your own heart so that we could continue to pray and to love in the same ways that You have. Help us now to offer our impossible prayers to You and to cling to You our great High Priest.
In Your name, we pray,

I'm grateful to ask for prayer from my fellow subjects of Christ.
I have generalized dystonia which affects every voluntary muscle in my body. It causes tremendous pain as muscles enter into full spasm with no way to get them to release fully.
I'm thankful to God for giving me a wonderful neurologist who applies botox-- what I call Blessed Poison--to some of my neck and foot muscles with great skill. It has allowed me to straighten up and walk, my favorite activity in the world.
With injections every 3 months, I've just come through the worst period physically that I've had since I began injections 4 years ago. I got my botox yesterday, and am already getting relief of the most knotted up major muscles--praise God.
All is well with my soul, and the request I ask you all to lift up is for deep relief, just for this 3 month period. It's gotten very hard to stand the pain and immobility, and I'd like some release.
Also, please feel free to offer up great heaping praise to God because He really does hear our prayers, adds to them with groans we can't understand, and lives forever to intercede for us. We are saints! Holy And dearly beloved!
Hang on everyone. You are prayed for, and God honors this. Never forget you are dearly loved by God Almighty, and you will be raised on That Great Day.

Thank You for the promise that echoes through time for us:
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life. (Psalm 143:8)
When the darkness of night envelops our hearts, will You stir trust in us to wait for the morning of Your unfailing love? Thank You that the night cannot cover up Your light, for the morning will always come. Help us to lift our eyes to You when we cannot see the way ahead. We lift our prayers to You now and entrust our very lives to You today.
In the name of Your son, Jesus, we pray,

I struggle with food addiction. I really need to lose some weight and get healthier as I have arthritis in my knees and feet and the extra weight is adding stress. Pray that I can overcome this battle, eat healthier, and overcome my food issues. Thank you. Kathi

This prayer has been answered!
Thank you for all who have prayed for me in my search for a new Rheumatologist. I think the Lord may have led me to an understanding and compassionate Rheumatologist, who also referred me to a Neurologist for further testing. I am scheduled for an MRI of the brain this Thursday, August 8. I so appreciate prayers for that, as we try to look further into why my body has not accepted any of the RA meds.

Would you join us as we pray this week?
Thank You that You see the weakness that we feel, and You are aware of the anxieties that overwhelm our hearts:
“When I said, ‘My foot is slipping,’
your unfailing love, LORD, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me,
your consolation brought me joy.” Psalm 94:18-19
Oh, Father, thank You that You hear our cries, and You send Your unfailing love to support our stumbling feet. Thank You that You don’t leave us in our fears and anxieties, but You bring us Your own consolations. So, Lord, we lift up those we love today, and ask for Your consolation to cover their anxieties also. We pray for those who feel that they cannot take another step without stumbling. May Your unfailing love support them even now. Our praises rise to You as we rest in Your deep heart of love.
In the name of Jesus we pray,

Do you ever feel that this world, our world, is spinning off its axis? If you have received an email or card mailed to you this month from the Chronic Joy Prayer Pond, you might have received this verse included with your note: “The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.” Psalm 46:7 It is a verse that has been on repeat in my heart through these many weeks of turmoil. Someone just prayed for you. The hour was late, and I was feeling the weight of pain as I rushed to get ready to leave. Yet another medication, along with the disease itself, had caused strange side effects for me. But this time, the on-call nurse told me to get into the ER as soon as I could. This particular reaction was one to be taken very seriously. I sent off a few quick prayer...
Leading Are you someone who enjoys planning your calendar weeks and months ahead? My days used to be full that way. Oh, I still have a digital calendar where I keep track of important appointments. But ever since chronic illness came upon the scene, I am much better at keeping a “To-Done-List” (no matter how small it might seem,) instead of a “To-Do-List.” When the days ahead seem to be...

Discover a spiritual path consisting of three stepping-stones: Solitude (learning not to be alone but to be alone with God); Silence (the discipline by which the inner fire of God is tended and kept alive); and Prayer (standing in the presence of God with the mind in the heart).
Ruth Haley Barton
Do you long for a deep, fundamental change in your life with God? Do you desire a greater intimacy with God? Spiritual disciplines are activities that open us to God’s transforming love and the changes that only God can bring about in our lives. This book takes you more deeply into understanding seven key disciplines along with practical ideas for weaving them into everyday life.
Christians are taught in their churches and schools that prayer is the most powerful way to experience God. But few receive instruction or guidance in how to make prayer genuinely meaningful. In Prayer, renowned pastor Timothy Keller delves into the many facets of this everyday act.
This collection of short stories, reflections, and poems from Jill Briscoe centers on the theme of our relationship with God, and how that relationship must be our daily priority in good times and bad.
