Prayer is the heartbeat of Chronic Joy Ministry.
Welcome to the Chronic Joy® Prayer Pond, where you can share your prayer requests, updates, and shouts of praise. At Chronic Joy, we’re passionate about prayer. That’s why we extend a warm invitation to pray for this ministry, for those affected by chronic illness and mental illness, and for each prayer request tossed into our Prayer Pond. Whether a request, praise, lament, suffering, loss, hope, grief, or joy, each prayer ripples far beyond this day and the boundaries of our world.
“For where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20
But what happens when chronic pain drives you to your bed, day after day. What happens when you feel the sting of the night-time hours’ of loneliness? What happens when you have searched for answers but found none? Welcome to the world that is a much-too-common-normal for many chronic illness sufferers.
Is this world of chronic illness a place where life is stunted? Or could there be a hidden intimacy with our Lord not seen before? Perhaps it is precisely the place where prayers are born. Could it be that the unrelenting pain is what might cause us to cry out to our God for His help?
In this place of crying-out, there is a longing in our soul that rises from the deep places. The Scriptures speak of “Deep calling out to deep,” Psalm 42:7 and “Hear the voice of my supplications.” Psalm 28:2 But sometimes those vague terms can cause us to flounder in our weaknesses and set aside the call to prayer. As you long for a way to find expression for your heart-longings, join us at on the Let’s Pray page to find help and explanations of different types of Biblical prayers:
You are a precious, vital member of the Kingdom of God and of this community. We’re glad you’re here. Grateful for your presence. Blessed to lift you in prayer.
May God bless you and keep you today and always. May He bring a fullness to your praying as you pause with Him now.
Before you leave today, please #PrayItForward by lifting up one or more of the requests in front of yours. Then be sure to click the “I PRAYED FOR THIS” button to let the requester know you prayed for them. What an honor to realize that every time we click that button, the person who submitted the request will get an email notifying them that “Someone just prayed for you.” We can lift our prayers in the night hours, in the hot sun of noon, or at the dawn of the morning, and He will hear us.
“Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:17 KJV
Thanks to everyone for who prayed for me. It is so encouraging to get a notice in my email indicating someone prayed for me. Blessings to all Chronic Joy prayer warriors. ~ Edna

I am having yet another allergic reaction to a medication. This time it's to the sedative given before today's MRI. Would you pray it calms down so that I don't have to go to the ER? And that I would give my treatment into God's hands again, for however long HE says this process must last? Thank you so much.

Please remember our son Johann 19 years old, blind. He suffered seizures past two years; after they stopped the aggression began. He was the sweetest most gentle of us five at home; now everyday is a struggle. New medicines have partially helped; yet behaviour varies. Do pray for strength, healing and wisdom for each of us at home. Thankyou.

Might I selfishly ask that you keep me in your prayers right now. I became very unwell with mental illness in January and fell out of work with this this in March. I am suffering with intense anxiety and depression and feel that my ability to appreciate 'hope' and 'faith' have been completely diminished. I always turned to the Lord but right now I feel that he is nowhere to be found. Please pray that my suffering is soon eased and I am able to offer my gifts to others.
Thank you kind people,

Please pray for my two sons. One is 31 and severely disabled. He does not sleep any longer and has begun having self-injurious behaviors. My other son became ill at 24 and 2 years later is still suffering from the chronic effects of 6 surgeries to try to heal the problem. Now it appears that the same problem is beginning again on the other side of his body despite one side not yet being healed. I don't want this to shake my family's faith either. Please pray for healing and strengthening of our family. Many thanks dear friends in Christ.

Please pray for my beloved daughter Sierra (late 20s), who is struggling with PTSD ... from a trauma & various betrayals and disappointments in her past, which is affecting her relationship with the Lord, with others, and with those who love her most.

My fiance has korikoff syndrome which is alcoholic dementia. Everyday the drinking continues and more memory is lost. My fiance can barely walk from the bed to the couch and can't remember things I've said 5 mins. Prior. I've been told by doctors that even if the drinking stops at this point the damage is permanent we can only hope to prevent further damage. After a year and rehab my fiance gave up after getting worse instead of better and relapsed back into beer. Now I've become a caregiver and feel so lost. I feel like I pray everyday for healing and help and receive no answer, its been so long with so much false hope with disappointment I'm starting to loose faith. I love and try so hard everyday but feel so hopeless.

Christmas: Little children light up with a glow of excitement when the word is mentioned. The word itself has become a season all its own. But why is it that the word “Christmas” stirs in our hearts a longing for gathering together and rejoicing?
When we seek to cultivate a joyous sense of thankfulness, it will change everything, our hearts, our outlook, and our prayers.
I cannot wish away this pain ... cannot get away from this broken body ... But what I can do is ... turn my sickness and pain into an offering.
Henri J.M. Nouwen
Discover a spiritual path consisting of three stepping-stones: Solitude (learning not to be alone but to be alone with God); Silence (the discipline by which the inner fire of God is tended and kept alive); and Prayer (standing in the presence of God with the mind in the heart).
Ruth Haley Barton
Do you long for a deep, fundamental change in your life with God? Do you desire a greater intimacy with God? Spiritual disciplines are activities that open us to God's transforming love and the changes that only God can bring about in our lives. Dive deeply into understanding seven key disciplines along with practical ideas for weaving them into everyday life.
Through studying the lives of Elijah and Elisha (1 Kings 17-19 and parts of 2 Kings), readers will be challenged to pray bold prayers rather than settle for meek prayers not offered in deep faith. Readers will learn to cultivate their prayer lives, surrender to God's timing, and plan and persist when prayers seem to go unanswered.
Christians are taught in their churches and schools that prayer is the most powerful way to experience God. But few receive instruction or guidance in how to make prayer genuinely meaningful. In Prayer, renowned pastor Timothy Keller delves into the many facets of this everyday act.
