This is an update on Carol. She is thankful for all of the prayers and asks that you continue to remember her in the days ahead as she now as a date for the surgery which is July 9th. She also needs to remain calm as this is her 4th major back surgery. The plan is that she will be in the ICU for several days following the surgery and then to a regular room in the hospital. From there she will be going to a facility for physical therapy.

My mother in law is 88. She is suffering from dementia and is losing ground quickly. She lives in assisted living but as it progresses she won’t be able to stay there. Pray for wisdom and unity for her children as decisions are made. Thank you.

We invite you to join us in prayer this week:
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for the gift of Your coming to us. We are forever grateful that You chose to leave Heaven so that we can be joined with You. On our lowest and hardest days here, we ask You to remind us that You are preparing a place to be with You there. We are covered in the hope of Your appearing. But Lord, we acknowledge that these moments of pain and weakness sometimes feel too heavy to carry. We see so many hurting, and we are bowed down for them also. We ask You to lift our burdens, to bring relief, and to meet each one of our cares with Your deep compassion. Will You fill our hearts with Your glorious hope and peace today?
In Your precious name we pray,

Please join my husband and me in praying for God's guidance [and the courage needed] to make difficult decisions regarding the future of his family owned business. Retirement is just around the corner, but the family members [he and his brother] are not in agreement regarding what that should look like. My husband and I both have severe chronic pain and the added stress is making it worse.Thank you for taking the time to pray for us. Our prayers for each other are like treasures overflowing from a heart in tune with Christ Jesus our Lord.

My husband has genetic chronic pancreatitus. He was asked to resign (about a year ago) from the church he had been pastor at for 10 years. We had to find a home, a job and heal emotionally. He has had really bad days but was finally able to get a plexus block that helped him to be able to work as a substitute teacher for income. It is very hard to get disability for pancreatitus and after a good stretch of about 3 months...his block is starting to wear off. Please pray. He loves ministry and misses it. He feels like a failure.

First of all, I love this idea, and I am excited to pray for as many people as I can.
My prayer request-
I have been struggling with a variety of chronic health issues for years now. It’s both physical and mental. It’s really wearing me down this year. I live with my parents still, and I want so badly to get out on my own. But honestly I just ask for prayer for God to guide me and help me on this journey, for a sense of purpose, and for His protection. I desire to be free of pain, for the fatigue and pain to not be so debilitating, to be able to do things I love again and to have strong lasting relationships with people. I have more desires, but ultimately, I want Gods will & I want to feel His presence and I just want to believe that my life matters & is significant in some way. That is my overall prayer but right now, my main prayer is to be able to either get rid of this pain I am having everywhere or learn how to cope with it, and for guidance to know what I should do & strength to do it.
Additionally, my liver & gallbladder are currently struggling very much- I need to detox so please pray that goes well and doesn’t cause unbearable side effects. My gut & kidneys are also not doing well- so basically need healing for my whole body. I still want Gods will, but that is a more specific prayer request.
Also please pray for my parents- my illness affects them as well.
Thank you for praying and thank you for letting me pray for others.

Would you pray with us as we lift our requests this week:
Dear Heavenly Father,
During this week where we have honored our earthly Fathers, would You accept our honor and praise for YOU, our most loving Father of all? Thank You for creating breath within us. Thank You for giving life and purpose from the moment we were conceived in our mother's womb. Help us to remember that Your purposes, and the strength to walk in those purposes, have never wavered, even if chronic pain and illness seem to have sidelined us. Help us to fix our gaze upon You, and let You show us the purpose for this day, this moment. Help us to hold onto Your strength and rest in the love that You shower upon us. We are filled with praise for You, Abba Father.
In the Name of Your son, Jesus, we pray,

I am struggling to cope with the recent death of my baby brother who took his own life 2 weeks ago. I have very little family support as my family has been very toxic. They have been estranged from me for many years and being forced to see them recently created more trauma. I am still dealing with my chronic illness and severe menopause symptoms including severe anxiety and depression. I cannot drive at times to get the things I need so life has been very hard.

Hello Friends. This is for my dear friend Carol. She is 76, lives alone and is going through some difficult days. Father's Day will be 3 years that her son passed away suddenly. She struggles with that. She has had 3 back surgeries and 5 knee surgeries. She is meeting with an orthopedic surgeon on June 24th to schedule her 4th back surgery. All the rods and pins in her back are loose and she is in intense pain constantly. She is barely able to walk. She feels very alone and I told her about the wonderful prayer group and she asked that you would include her at this time. This back surgery will require breaking her back. It is possibly a 2 day surgery with 8 to 10 hours each surgery. A long recovery. Thank you for this group of prayer warriors because I myself feel the prayers and am encouraged by knowing that someone prays and cares. Love.

#PrayerMonday is an invitation to pray for this ministry, for those affected by chronic physical and/or mental illness, and for each prayer request tossed into our Prayer Pond. We’ve created a Prayer Focus calendar and encourage you to sign-up and commit to praying during a specific hour – to link arms with us in bringing radical hope and compassionate change to the world through the power of prayer.
Would you like to offer a kind word, encouragement, an inspiring quote, or prayer to a fellow chronic illness traveller? On hard days when it seems almost impossible to take one more step, sometimes it soothes the spirit to extend ourselves a bit. Writing a note to a fellow traveller could be just that.
And it’s simple to do!
Stop by the Prayer Pond and as you read through the requests, when God tugs at your heart, pause and pray, then consider writing a note, card or letter to encourage that person too.
Or let us choose. You write the note of encouragement and we’ll choose the recipient.
Send your card to: Card Ministry, c/o Chronic Joy, 1015 Lemira Circle, Waukesha, WI 53188 and we’ll send it on for you.
Would you like to receive a note of encouragement? We invite you to sign-up, and as our mailbox fills up, we’ll forward a little love to you.

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. (Exodus 14:14)What a promise and what a challenge! Be still when the world says take charge, run faster, push harder, do more, make it happen – whatever it is. Just do it! This passage is written as a command, to be “done” or really not...
Of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1) This verse is a long-time favorite of many people, in fact, several worship songs are taken directly from these words. But I wonder if we have...
Invitation to Prayer | March 2019 Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. (Psalm 54:4) Have you ever felt empty - with absolutely nothing left to give? Have you tried everything, yet nothing seems to help? Perhaps the isolation and simple survival of life with chronic...

Inspired by the ancient teachings of St. Anthony and the Desert Fathers,The Way of the Heart clears before us a spiritual path consisting of three stepping-stones: Solitude (learning not to be alone but to be alone with God); Silence (the discipline by which the inner fire of God is tended and kept alive); and Prayer (standing in the presence of God with the mind in the heart).

Do you long for a deep, fundamental change in your life with God? Do you desire a greater intimacy with God? Do you wonder how you might truly live your life as God created you to live it? Spiritual disciplines are activities that open us to God’s transforming love and the changes that only God can bring about in our lives. Picking up on the monastic tradition of creating a “rule of life” that allows for regular space for the practice of the spiritual disciplines, this book takes you more deeply into understanding seven key disciplines along with practical ideas for weaving them into everyday life.
Christians are taught in their churches and schools that prayer is the most powerful way to experience God. But few receive instruction or guidance in how to make prayer genuinely meaningful. In Prayer, renowned pastor Timothy Keller delves into the many facets of this everyday act.
This collection of short stories, reflections, and poems from Jill Briscoe centers on the theme of our relationship with God, and how that relationship must be our daily priority in good times and bad.
