This is an update to the prayer request I just sent a few moments ago for my friend Gayl Wright. Her son, Stephen, is in the presence of Jesus now. Please pray for the entire family as they grieve this heavy loss.

This is an urgent request for my friend, Gayl Wright. Her son with Muscular Dystrophy took a turn for the worst, and he had to be rushed to the hospital on Wednesday evening with Congestive Heart Failure. Tonight they almost lost him, and have now moved him to ICU. Please pray for God to intervene and cover them all with His grace. Thank you for your prayers!

I have a young friend, she’ll be 12 the end of December who was just diagnosed with diabetes. Pray for her and her family as they make the adjustments that this journey requires. Thank you.

This is an update and praise report on my sister-in-law Joyce. Back in May, I asked for prayer because she had been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer. She was on several rounds of chemo all summer and fall before they could even operate. Today she had surgery to remove the tumor, and the surgeon reported that all of her lymph nodes are clear, with no spreading cancer. Praise God! She is in recovery now and will need several weeks to recuperate. Thank you so much for all of your prayers!

Hi there fellow believers! I am a 36 year old mother of three boys, 7, 3 and 4 month old - I’m nursing him . I’ve been having chest pain. Went to the ER and all the tests were fun but two weeks later and I still have the pain. I have an apt with my doctor on 11/21/19. He’s talking about CAT scans and such. Needless to say, I am gripped with fear and anxiety of the worst. I am asking God for healing and that it is nothing serious. I am asking the LORD for a long long life with my family. And I am asking Him for HIS peace! Please join me in these prayers and for whatever else HE puts on your hearts! Thank you all!

I need a new heater for this cold weather. I have a brand new one that was given to me but it has a smell coming from it when it heats up and giving me allergy symptoms so I can't use it. It's all metal like I need but still having breathing problems when it's turned on. I'm in Florida but the last 2 days it's been down in 50 degree temps. The inside temp in my house is 70 degrees which is making me so cold. I've tried to buy another heater but all of them have some kind of plastic on them which makes me sick. The other request is still that I don't have enough food to eat. You all have already been praying for this need that I posted several months ago, but nothing has changed and still losing weight and feeling weaker each day. I need God to touch my body. God Bless you all!

Dear fellow sufferers,
I have posted on here before several times and I felt like I wasn't sure I should write again, but I just want to say my most sincere thanks for those of you out there who have prayed for me. It's been overwhelming as every time I get up from one surgery I end up in the ER again with infections - more surgeries. I asked the Lord if 40 surgeries wouldn't be enough now, and my husband and I sure hope there won't be more in the near future (forever would be okay with me) Currently I am in recovery mode from the past 6 surgeries from this summer and fall. With complex chronic disease on top of it all, I have been in such a battle. However, several things have happened which I want to give a praise report for. First of all, your prayers have made a difference!!! Second, Jesus has NOT forsaken me and perhaps the reason I can go on is because you prayed!!!. And third, a dear friend has set up a GoFundMe page to help us out with the overwhelming medical bills.(never ending medical is something. SO MANY of you know what it's like) ... My testimony is that the Lord is good in the midst of our lack of understanding why. And I want to thank the team at Chronic Joy for bringing HOPE to so many of us by setting up this site and encouraging all of us -- and putting out those prayer requests. And My husband and I both say thank you to those of you who prayed. We pray for the requests as well.
~ Sincerely, Anna & Elmer Stoltzfus

I want to praise our Father for little steps of healing grace that I have seen from Him in these past few weeks. Thank you so much my brothers and sisters in Christ for your prayers. God is moving and I feel Him working. Praise His name forever!

#PrayerMonday is an invitation to pray for this ministry, for those affected by chronic physical and/or mental illness, and for each prayer request tossed into our Prayer Pond. We’ve created a Prayer Focus calendar and encourage you to sign-up and commit to praying during a specific hour – to link arms with us in bringing radical hope and compassionate change to the world through the power of prayer.
Would you like to offer a kind word, encouragement, an inspiring quote, or prayer to a fellow chronic illness traveller? On hard days when it seems almost impossible to take one more step, sometimes it soothes the spirit to extend ourselves a bit. Writing a note to a fellow traveller could be just that.
And it’s simple to do!
Stop by the Prayer Pond and as you read through the requests, when God tugs at your heart, pause and pray, then consider writing a note, card or letter to encourage that person too.
Or let us choose. You write the note of encouragement and we’ll choose the recipient.
Send your card to: Card Ministry, c/o Chronic Joy, 1015 Lemira Circle, Waukesha, WI 53188 and we’ll send it on for you.
Would you like to receive a note of encouragement? We invite you to sign-up, and as our mailbox fills up, we’ll forward a little love to you.
REQUEST A CARD
From time to time our hearts are moved to send old-school notes to those in our community. May we bless you with tangible expressions of love and community? *US residents only.
SEND A CARD
Would you like to send a note or letter offering prayer and encouragement? Mail your unsealed cards and letters to us and we will send them on to someone in our community.

Acquainted with Grief Strange acquaintance for the Son of God! The brightness of glory, and the express image of the Father’s person! But He came into our world on purpose that He might know by experience all that His people had suffered; yea, all that His people deserved. He had heard of sorrow. He had seen it in others. But He had never felt it Himself. He took our nature. He...READ MORE

Inspired by the ancient teachings of St. Anthony and the Desert Fathers,The Way of the Heart clears before us a spiritual path consisting of three stepping-stones: Solitude (learning not to be alone but to be alone with God); Silence (the discipline by which the inner fire of God is tended and kept alive); and Prayer (standing in the presence of God with the mind in the heart).
Ruth Haley Barton
Do you long for a deep, fundamental change in your life with God? Do you desire a greater intimacy with God? Do you wonder how you might truly live your life as God created you to live it? Spiritual disciplines are activities that open us to God’s transforming love and the changes that only God can bring about in our lives. Picking up on the monastic tradition of creating a “rule of life” that allows for regular space for the practice of the spiritual disciplines, this book takes you more deeply into understanding seven key disciplines along with practical ideas for weaving them into everyday life.
Christians are taught in their churches and schools that prayer is the most powerful way to experience God. But few receive instruction or guidance in how to make prayer genuinely meaningful. In Prayer, renowned pastor Timothy Keller delves into the many facets of this everyday act.
This collection of short stories, reflections, and poems from Jill Briscoe centers on the theme of our relationship with God, and how that relationship must be our daily priority in good times and bad.
