Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

NEW WAYS TO FIND HOPE AS YOU JOURNEY THROUGH GRIEF

In this Oasis of Hope, we are looking at grief, hope, and photography. Do you wonder what they could possibly have in common? Grief affects every one of us, whether through death, loss, unexpected change, or chronic illness. There are tools to use to help us find hope in grief. Photography is an activity that can help in discovering that hope. We pray these words will encourage you as you journey through grief and discover hope in creative ways.

Natalie Ogbourne’s Hope for Heavy Days details how her family found hope when there seemed to be no relief in sight.

After losing a son, Gayl Wright found creative ways to discover hope in her grief. She shares some examples in Grieving with Hope: Journaling, Poetry, and Lament .

God’s creation, which bears His holy trademark, invites us to press “pause” and take off our shoes – releasing anxious thoughts, pain, stress, the heaviness of loss, and grief – for in God’s presence, we are standing on holy ground.
