HOPE AMID GRIEF
We pray that you will turn to God in times of loss and grief where you will find true comfort. We also pray that you will glimpse hope in new ways through these articles.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.
He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction,
through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
(2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
Grief is the uninvited visitor who barges in, brutally reminding you of every loss. You fight it, resist it, and want to chase it away. Sometimes you can. Sometimes you refocus and remember all the good things left to enjoy, but some days the battle rages as you dodge wave after wave after wave.
There are times in our lives to mourn and grieve, but it is so important not to lose hope. For those of us who know Jesus, we cling to an everlasting hope. As we grieve and mourn, let us also remember to encourage each other, to look for the joy in life no matter where we go.
